Economy

The basic definition of economy is that it is a society's economic system and it uses processes to determine what is produced and distributed. There are 3 main ways to determine distribution and produce: A market process, a command and control process, and a political process.

The Command and Control Process mentioned above is one of the more common ways of distribution and production it works by  that a commander/leader decides what will be produced, how it will be produced, and who gets to have it. These people can simply be called dictators of the market.

The economic system used in the U.S. is a mixed economy, and not a pure-market economy. This is because while many production and distribution is decided by the market, a large proportion of it is made by the government. A market is a place where people from firms, organizations, or individuals themselves, etc., come together to trade or barter, where they find each other and make voluntary exchanges (a voluntary exchange is what makes both agents better off.)

In Hawaii, our main products are agricultural wise such as, macadamia nuts, coffee, sugar cane, pineapple, variations of flowers, etc. But the most main income from other sources is from tourism.
